Valley City Explorers is a career-readiness and workforce development program designed for high school juniors and seniors at Buckeye HS, Brunswick HS, Medina HS, Polaris Career Center, the Medina County Career Center and surrounding area schools. It offers your student a direct path into local, high-paying manufacturing careers — no college degree required.
If your student is a hands-on learner, interested in earning while learning, or unsure whether college is the right path, this program provides a structured, safe, and meaningful opportunity to explore the world of work — with real support and local impact.

Safety First: Background Checks & Youth Protection
All company employees who interact with students through Valley City Explorers are:
- Background checked
- Trained in BSA Youth Protection policies
- Supervised during all Explorer activities
This ensures a safe and supportive environment for all participants during job site visits.

Structured & Supervised
- Vetted adult mentors lead all site visits and training events
- Schedules are clearly communicated in advance
- Attendance, punctuality, and professionalism are required at all times
- A required student/parent program agreement for transparency and accountability
- Timely notifications for all scheduled events
- Ongoing access to staff for questions or concerns
- A safe, structured stepping stone into the adult workforce
